Kangaroo and art

Kangaroos, llamas and not least Denmark's longest tiger python. A savannah tour on Orø offers a little bit of everything when it takes place in Orøbeach Animal Park, where you can get up close and personal with all kinds of animals and talk with the zookeepers, who are happy to answer your questions.

Orø Beach is a Blue Flag beach and is located at Nørre Stænge close to Orø Strandcamping. The beach is child-friendly with shallow water depths. If a refreshing dip is not enough, you can buy ice cream in the ice cream parlor at the campsite, where there is also a playground and bouncy pillow in high season.

Up on Margrethebakken stands an old water tower. However, there is no longer any water in it. Instead, it has been transformed into the Kulturbeholderen, where a beautiful frieze by the visual artist Steen B. Langvad tells legends and stories from Orø.

The Culture Vault is also the focal point for a host of cultural events throughout the year.

Art is flourishing on Orø, where you can can explore a wealth of artists and craftsmen. Behind Fjordlandet Sculpture and Stone Carving Workshop is Martin Bruggisser. He is works with granite, stoneware and much more.

Orø is also home to both a music festival and a motorcycle festival.
